TS Govt. Firm On Illegal Occupations

landSThe T.S. government wants to be firm with persons who occupy the government lands illegally. It opened a cell in the revenue department of the secretariat for this purpose with the deputy secretary Narendar Rao. Thousands of acres of land are under illegal occupation according to a survey by the cell. A few hundred acres of land are in litigation. Acres of land allotted to private companies by earlier governments were not utilised by the respective companies and went into the hands of illegal occupants. The present government cancelled five thousand acres of land allotted to the Dil company. The company was allotted the land in Medak, Rangareddy, Nalgonda and Mahbub Nagar in 2007. The government also took back four acres of the twenty acres allotted for film development in the city. The said four acres were under illegal occupation. The government kept 1.61 lakh acres land under land bank. 83 new industries are expected to come up in this land with an investment of Rs.6,300 crores. The Bhu Bharati survey, taken by the Centre with the help of the state government was already over in Nizamabad district. It may take at least one year to know the total extent of government land in the state.
