School books were printed without a proper mention of martyrs and students who played a key role and fought and died during the Telangana movement. Without informing about the vital role and people who died for the cause of Telangana the text books were printed by the government. In the 10th class social studies one lesson under Telangana State movement was introduced but martyrs like Srikanthchary, Venugopal Reddy, constable Kishtiah, inter alia, did not find a place in it. Details of the martyrs were not given in the book. And there was also no clarity on the extent of deaths and sacrifices of students.
A few hundreds died for the cause was the only mention. It concluded saying under Telangana senior citizens association 1080 people died. But in the 8thclass Telugu text book it was mentioned in prose and poetry under a heading of martyrs that 360 people died in 1969. On the other, TRS mention was made in the Telangana State movement with KCR taking part in the hunger strike with which began JACs in all universities and started the stir. Details of stir which was intensified, the process of State formation and the announcement and its withdrawal was mentioned in the lesson.
