TS MLAs’ salaries may go up

Telangana-AssemblyTelangana government is considering to hike the salaries of MLAs and MLCs following representations from many of them for the same. They said they are unable to meet the growing expenditure. Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao has asked the officials to make a study of existing salary structure in all the states and submit a report to him. The MLAs and MLCs have been getting nearly Rs a lakh salary every month. They asked to hike it to at least Rs 3 lakhs, it is learnt. They reminded KCR that a committee of Delhi Assembly has made a recommendation to hike the salaries to Rs 4 lakhs every month there. The increase may be effected from April 1, sources said. The total salary bill  per annum is Rs 16 crore in Telangana.
