Telangana State Council of Higher Education (TSCHE) chairman Prof. T. Papi Reddy has announced that Telangana will conduct separate exams for Intermediate and any decision taken by Andhra Pradesh will not be entertained. The Andhra Pradesh government is expected to discuss the issue in the cabinet meeting to be held on Thursday but Telangana firmly announced that it will not change its stand.
“We will hold our own exams and we are ready to face any eventuality,” said Mr. Reddy.
Telangana may had to face another legal battle in the higher courts as the provision in Andhra Pradesh Reorganisation Act has made them to follow common admission process for the next ten years. Mr. Reddy argued that the Act says to follow ‘common admission processes’ but not ‘common entrance processes’.
Meanwhile, Chairman of the APSCHE Prof. L Venugoapl Reddy said, We are going as per the Reorganisation Act. And the argument that entrance is different from admissions is wrong. Separate entrance is a violation of the Act.”
