Tunnel to Golkonda Fort

Tomb_of_Sultan_Muhammad_Qutb_Shah_01-300x212Archaeological Survey of India working along with Agha Khan Trust found a tunnel while repairing the seven tombs belonging to Asaf Jahi kings, who ruled the Golkonda kingdom for 150 years. Bodies were brought from the Golkonda Fort to the burial ground through the tunnel which was in dark for decades. Tourists visit the seven tombs which were built even while the rulers were alive and the tunnel in Hyderabad is an added attraction to the tourism sector now. It was said that some more interesting facts could surface if the tunnel came under study.
