Thomas Reddy the TMU working president said, “A notice has also been given to the management regarding the strike, and initially the union is planning to stage dharnas on December 19 and 20 with red badges”. He further said that if the management fails to respond their 32 demands during the two days then the workers will go on strike on December 23 and 24.
On these two days buses will not operate in the twin cities.
The TMU president said that the management has been given enough time, and the notice was given on November 17. There was no response from the management even after the meeting held on December 6.
Union leaders said they may continue the strike if the management does not respond and it may also extend to other districts of Telangana.
Double wages for double duty, three days leave every month and an end to the illegal suspensions of drivers and conductors are their main demands.
