Two Mining Firms Asked to Close Operations

miningThe Ministry of Forest and Environment has asked two mining firms to close their operations for violating the environmental concerns. The two firms belonging to Telangana and Andhra Pradesh were found neglecting the environment impact assessment notification.

Tirumala Granites, operating in Veerasettipalli reserve forests of Yadamarri mandal in Chittoor will have to shut its operations as Dr V.P. Upadhyay, scientist with the environment ministry issued orders for operating between 2006 and 2012 without obtaining environment clearance.

The Ministry of Forest and Environment stated, “State government has initiated action against the violence and evidence was provided to MoEF regarding it”.
