Deputy Chief Minister Mahmood Ali made a turnaround over his statement that his government would not hesitate to pull down the heritage edifice Charminar in case it is in ruins. The minister was proceeding to Warangal and as his remarks on Charminar drew flak he chose to clarify that he did not speak in terms of demolishing the said landmark of Hyderabad. He clarified saying that their government was trying to construct a good building with international standards only to provide best health care to people. He said Charminar, which is a symbol of Telangana, is not as bad as to knock down right now. Congress and BJP leaders started mounting criticism over pulling down the OGH heritage building.
