Union Minister Dattatreya inaugurates two-day girl students’ Conference

Bandaru-DattatreyaBandaru Dattatreya the Union Minister for Labour said that girls have surpassed all the hurdles created by culture, family and men and proved to the world that they were second to none if they got opportunities.

On Saturday at Osmania University the minister inaugurates the two-day girl students’ conference which was organized by Akhil Bharatiya Vidyarthi Parishad (ABVP). Mr. Dattatreya reminded how Poorna, a girl from a downtrodden section, fighting all odds climbed the Mount Everest. Such feats are true inspiration to girls.

The Union Minister said that “The Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, was taking several initiatives to ensure that girls were treated equally by the society referring to the recently launched programme Beti Bachao Beti Padhao.” He further added, “We have just 2.5 lakh seats in ITIs and they will be increased to one crore”.

In this two-day conference, apart from lectures by women from various walks of life, it will see panel discussions on law reforms, women empowerment and social leadership.
