The opposition Congress took the opportunity to mock the ruling BJP on its decision to drop the senior most leaders from the apex decision making body of the party. Speaking on the progress, Rashid Alvi, Congress spokesperson said, “Joshiji and Advaniji are not the Margdarshak Mandal. They are ‘Mookdarshak’ (silent spectators) and are there to silently see whatever is happening”.
The Congress also stated that the veteran leaders have been moved to ‘old age home’.
Former Information and Broadcasting Minister Manish Tewari said that this move of BJP marks the “process of centralisation of power” in one hand.
