Union minister for Urban Development M Venkaiah Naidu has appreciated Telangana government for undertaking a demolition drive over illegal structures on sewerage lines. He lauded the efforts of the state’s urban affairs wing when KT Rama Rao, minister for Urban Development met him this evening in New Delhi. KTR has sought Centre’s financial help to the rain-affected Hyderabad and other municipalities. He submitted a memorandum to him in this regard.
KT Rama Rao has informed that more than 600 illegal encroachments have been razed in the past three days and the drive will continue for the next several weeks. More than 28,000 illegal buildings have come up over lake beds, drainage lines and other nalas, according to officials.
KTR has also met Railway minister Suresh Prabhu and sought his intervention to expedite the works of Metro Rail.
KTR has also appreciated Centre’s decision to carry out surgical strikes on terror camps in PoK.
