BJP’s Venkayya Naidu spoke to the media on the changes, inclusions the saffron party is asking for to cooperate on the T Bill. He mentioned 4 – 5 major issues, prime among them is Polavaram, he termed it the lifeline of Seemandhra region, and demanded removal of all hurdles in it’s creation, including the addition of villages to Seemandhra region. He wants clarity on the completion of all pending projects based on the surplus water allocation. He asked for full clarity on the security measures for Seemandhra persons living in Hyderabad. The allocation of powers to Governor in this regard, Constitutional sanctity to such powers should be clarified, he said.
He demanded for 10,000 crore fund allocation to Seemandhra as it would face a huge fund deficit starting immediately. He asked for 100% tax exemptions for the region for ten years, and then 50% for the next ten years.
“We made all our demands very clear to the Home Minister and Jairam Ramesh which was also attended by Sushmaji, Advaniji, Jaitley and my self,” he said. Venkayya Naidu went on to blame Congress for causing all this difficulty in the Parliament over the issue. He took strong objections to the allegations of ‘double standards’ on BJP by Kamal Nath. He said that even Advaniji expressed displeasure over the suspension of MPs from the House.
Sadly, not even one of his demands looks at the welfare of the Telangana region.
