Speaking at the state BJP headquarters after felicitation, he said, “If I grew from being an ordinary worker to be the Governor of Maharashtra, as being reported in media, it is because of BJP leaders and workers. It definitely makes me happy, but it is a responsibility. I will carry out my responsibilities in the right manner. I will see to it that none of you feel that our Vidyasagar Rao is not functioning properly”.
Kalraj Misra, Union Minister was also present in the function to congratulate Mr Rao.
“I will discharge my duties effectively in accordance with the Constitution of India”, he added.
When asked about his priorities as the governor of Maharashtra, he said, “We have to think over it. As Governor, in accordance with the Constitution, we will decide priorities”.
He said, “I don’t feel that there are controversies. When there are no controversies, there is nothing to comment”, replying on the row of transfers and resignations of governors.
