Viewing at the continuous protests by the AIADMK supporters, Karnataka government now wants Jayalalithaa to be shifted to her own state. Jayalalithaa was sentenced for 4-year jail term for owning 66.65 Crore disproportionate property, along with three close aides of her.
AIACMK supporters are regularly protestingin the premises of Bangalore Central Jail where Jaya had been shifted after being convicted. The partymen have also taken Karnataka High Court for protests. State government of Karnataka has been forced to do special exercises in order to bring Jaya supporters under control.
A senior minister in the Congress-led Karnataka government said, “This is a hyper sensitive case. Last week, advocates from Tamil Nadu and AIADMK workers staged several demonstrations and accused us (the Karnataka government) of hatching a conspiracy to delay the hearing of Jayalalithaa’s bail petition. We have been unnecessarily facing the flak ever since she was sentenced to four-year imprisonment in the case. We do not want such a volatile situation to go on in the state. It will be better if Jayalalithaa is shifted to a jail in Tamil Nadu”.
