Prime Minister Narendra Modi is making all the efforts to leave his footprints in the valley for the upcoming assembly polls. He wooed the Ladakh region today, saying people’s love had drawn him to state twice in quick session.
Prime Minister Narendra Modi, decked out in a traditional Ladakhi costume and hat, sat on the stage next to a sombre looking Chief Minister.
The PM in his speech said, “We will fight corruption tooth and nail, in Delhi and the states. Corruption is troubling us. People are angry. I assure that we will fight corruption & work with all those against corruption. But there are also honest officers. We will work with them too. If we win the fight against corruption we will win battle against poverty. There is no shortage of funds, but corruption has ruined this country.”
PM Modi also inaugurated the Leh-Srinagar transmission line and the hydro power project in Leh.
“There was a time when PMs never visited this state. I have come here two times already. Your affection draws me here,” the Prime Minister said in Leh, dressed in traditional Ladakhi gear. Inaugurating a power plant, he said his three-pronged plan for the development of the region was about three Ps – “Prakash (electricity), Paryavaran (environment) and Paryatan (tourism)”, continued Mr. Modi.
BJP had won three of the six Lok Sabha Seats in Jammu and Kashmir. Now, the party aims at full majority in the upcoming assembly poll.
