The newly appointed Telangana State Public Service Commission Chairman, Ganta Chakrapani asserted that only merit and integrity would be taken as the criteria for appointment to government jobs. The commission would not yield to pressure from any quarter.
He also said that the new job calendar for the state of Telangana would be out soon and the 1.07 Lakh vacancies would be filled in a phased manner.
“Our first task is to come out with a job calendar soon. There are 1.07 Lakh vacancies and it will be filled in a phased manner. The commission will function in a transparent manner, maintain utmost integrity and will be apolitical. We will not succumb to any political pressure,” Mr Chakrapani said after taking charge.
Prof. Chakrapani and another TSPSC member Vittal asserted that there would be no more dharnas for jobs before the commission.
Meanwhile the APPSC secretary refused to vacate the chambers citing non issuing of official orders, which made the things sour between TS and AP.
