What are the Efforts to Prevent Accidents on ORR?

On Wednesday Naini Narasimha Reddy the Home Minister of Telangana informed the State Assembly that in the last six months as many as 37 accidents have occurred on Outer Ring Road (ORR).

During Question Hour a question was posed by MLA Manchireddy Kishan Reddy, in reply the Home Minister said on January 18 this year a joint initiative of Hyderabad Metropolitan Development Authority (HMDA) and Cyberabad Traffic Police was launched, in which five vehicles were provided by HMDA and staff was provided by Cyberabad and Medak police.

These vehicles were patrolling the stretch between Gachibowli and Pedda Amberpet.

Further, the Minister said to improve enforcement more vehicles and staff need to be added to the existing patrolling. More signage’s giving information about speed limits, direction, lane driving, etc., to make the users aware; cameras are need to be installed to capture violations on ORR. He also said that deployment of Traffic Policemen on ORR to be increased and sign boards with ‘Go Slow’ instructions need to be erected.
