Woman IPS Conquers Mountain

aparnaAn UP woman IPS Aparna Kumar conquered Mount Vinson Massif in Antarctica on January 17. She conquered this 17000 feet high mountain along with her colleagues and created record as the first woman IPS officer to climb a mountain successfully. She hoisted the Indian tri colour flag and the UP police flag atop the mountain. The UP chief minister Akhilesh Yadav congratulated Aparna Kumar for achieving this rare feat.

In 2015 Aparna Kumar became the first lady IPS officer of Uttar Pradesh to have successfully scaled the highest mountain peak of European continent Mount Elbrus. She had earlier successfully scaled Carstensz Pyramid in Indonesia, Mount Kilimanjaro in Tanzania and Mount Aconcagua in South America and hoisted Indian and Uttar Pradesh police’s flag
