Moving a step ahead towards its poll promise to ensure safety of women under TRS rule, the government announced to establish a one-stop crisis resolving centre for women in Hyderabad. The centre will be operative early next year.
The centre will have a toll-free number 181 operative 24 hours in a day and seven days in a week.
The centre will be named ‘Nirbhaya Centre’ in the remembrance of the demised girl who was gang-raped in a running bus on the roads of National Capital and left to die on the road.
Telangana will be the first state in the country to set up such a centre to help women in need.
Swathi Lakra, Additional Commissioner (Crimes), City Police Hyderabad said, the proposed One Stop Crisis Centre will create a friendly environment.
