Workers’ stir from Sept 2

trading unianTen trade unions, except BMS ( affiliated to BJP ), have decided to go on strike across the country from September 2, in protest against the anti-workers’ policies of Modi Government. The BMS chose to keep off the stir as it had accepted the government’s assurances. AITUC national secretary Gurudas Dasgupta made clear that they chose to strike work as the government made a turnaround on minimum wages and lashed out at BMS for lending support to the government on amendments to Acts. He also said they were ready for talks with the government. Lakhs of workers are expected to take part in the strike, the trade union leaders said.
