The Indian Navy is preparing to observe the first International Day of Yoga on June 21, by launching initiatives to introduce Yoga to naval personnel. Navy’s action plan to observe Yoga is aimed at encouraging naval personnel to translate the practice of Yoga into a way of life. Naval community has been sensitised to the conduct Yoga. Navy units in Mediterranean Sea, the Western Pacific Ocean and the Southern Indian Ocean will participate with a unique design!
Ships of the Navy will conduct Yoga at 7 AM. The action plan also includes Yoga exercises during morning physical training routines in ships and establishments. Efforts are also in place to include Yoga modules in the curriculum of training institutions and establish Yoga Centres at Naval Stations.
