Leader of the Opposition YS Jagan Mohan Reddy stood by the electricity contract workers who have been striking for the past four days in Vijayawada. He malignly raised the issue on the floor of the assembly.
From Monday midnight, more than 1000 employees demanding that the Government cancel the third party contract system and immediately address their long-pending grievances.
Raising their issue in the house, YS Jagan said that the TDP had promised jobs if Babu became chief minister. But, since it came to power, there have been job losses, said YS Jagan. The YSRCP members sought an adjournment motion on the problems of the employees of Indira Kranthi Scheme, IKP and contract employees. Minister for Labour K.Atchannaidu said his govt would do justice to all sections of the society.
A discussion on the employee’s issues was demanded by opposition party members. Amid the ruckus, the house adjourned for 10 minutes.
YS Jagan had expressed solidarity with the striking electricity contract workers in Vijayawada on Tuesday.
He promised to raise the issues of the contract workers during the Assembly session.
