Farmers in tears as rains damage crops

Crop-Damaged-Due-To-RainEven as the unseasonal rains and squally weather hit the farmers destroying the standing crops in its wake, weather forecast  Indicated that stormy depression from Vidharba to south Tamil Nadu would continue over Telangana and Andhra Pradesh. The stormy and thunderous rains damaged roads and houses apart from the crops in Telangana districts.

Met office also stated that hail storm with chances of cumulonimbus clouds would result in showers. Trees were uprooted and electric poles were flattened in Nalgonda district and in Miryalaguda, one housetop was thrown away due to gales which by and large dampened the spirit of helpless farmers.


Telangana, Rayhalaseema and Andhra would experience rains with thunder under its impact, which may further cause destruction to the crops, weather office said.

Farmers in Peddapally in Karimnagar district lost their mango gardens, paddy and maize crops. Traffic also came to a standstill as trees fell across the roads and housetops too were destroyed. In Mancheriyal, Chennoor, Bellampally, Sirpur and Asifabad in Adilabad district heavy gales accompanied by rains  left a trail of destruction. Power breakdown was also experienced.

Farmers had to bear the brunt of it. At some places power was stopped as a precautionary step.
