Supreme Court Issues Notice to Vijay Mallya

The Supreme Court on Wednesday refused to order Vijay Mallya to be personally present in court, despite banks expressing their fear that he may have left the country.Attorney General Mukul Rohatgi, who sought such an order from the court, said the UB Group chairman’s Twitter messages showed that he may be in London and a court order would force him to come back to the country. Justices Kurian Joseph and RF Nariman instead issued notices to Mallya, United Breweries Holdings and the Indian Embassy in London, seeking his views on the petition which wants him to disclose the details of all his assets to the court.
